Falafel's Drive In Restaurant Review: Falafel’s Drive In has been open on busy Stevens Creek Boulevard since 1966. As the name suggests, falafel is the specialty, and that’s what nine out of ten customers order. The messy sandwiches come in small and large sizes (go for the large --- it’s not much more expensive). The hot, crispy falafel balls are stuffed in a pita and dressed with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, tahini sauce and a zesty hot sauce. The stand-out, smoky baba-ghanouj and very good hummus come with pita bread, pickled turnips, cucumbers and tomatoes. Carnivores will find dishes such as gyros and chicken. If someone in your party thinks these foods are too exotic, Falafel’s also offers burgers, hot dogs and fries. Baklava is the extent of dessert, although milk shakes are available. Most of the seating is in a covered area outdoors. Come early or late for lunch to avoid standing in line.
