THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Fatoosh Restaurant Review:
Appealing Middle Eastern fare is the premise at this new spot with a unique location: its perched on a balcony overlooking a gourmet food market. Some restaurants might find that intimidating, but fresh is a key word here as well down below. Its titular salad is a mix of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, onion, radishes and toasted pita bread in olive oil and lemon dressing, and it is a good bet along with a bowl of lentil soup or a meat or spinach pie. Fresh vegetable and fruit juices are churned to order. Among main dishes are shish kafta (charbroiled seasoned ground lamb, which also may be had with beef or chicken), lamb chops with hummus and jumbo shrimp sautéed with butter, garlic, lemon and mushrooms. The appetizer list (mezes) includes combination dishes of hummus, tabbouleh, cheese and olives, and stuffed grape leaves and falafel, and it is a feast on a platter. This is one of nearly a dozen restaurants in the complex, built to give Novi a downtown center.
