Feierabend Restaurant Review: Feierabend’s food, drink and spirit are distinctly Bavarian. Surrounded by dark wood décor, patrons gather at communal tables to enjoy the 18 beers on tap, all imported from the homeland and served in steins and glasses. Brews range from Erdinger Hefe-Weizen to a darker Spaten Optimator. Appetizers such as crisp shoestring fries served with house-made curry ketchup, cured German sausage, and Bavarian pretzels with mustard serve as bar noshes. We also recommend the wiener schnitzel with a coating of breadcrumbs cloaking the pork to keep it moist and juicy, plus a hearty serving of sweet-and-sour red cabbage enhanced with the subtle hint of cloves. Bread dumplings paired with a savory mushroom sauce studded with bacon bits makes another hearty main, while the bratwurst and sauerkraut is also respectable. A friendly, efficient staff keeps everything humming in the smallish space. No minors are allowed.
