Feierabend Restaurant Review: Patrons gather at communal tables amid dark wood décor to enjoy their brews at this authentic German beer house. Eighteen beers on tap, served in steins and glasses, are imported from the homeland, and range from Erdinger Hefe-weizen to a darker Spaten Optimator. The menu is a blend of Northwest by way of Deutschland. Appetizers such as crisp shoestring fries served with house-made curry ketchup, cured German sausage, and Bavarian pretzels with mustard double-up as bar noshes. We also recommend the wiener schnitzel, with a coating of breadcrumbs cloaking the pork to keep it moist and juicy, while the accompanying sweet-and-sour red cabbage has a subtle hint of cloves. Bread dumplings with a savory mushroom sauce studded with bacon bits makes another hearty main, while the bratwurst and sauerkraut is also respectable. A friendly, efficient staff keeps everything humming in the smallish space. No minors are allowed.
