In keeping with the simulated al fresco ambience of this Italian fantasy, a tiled cobblestone street leads guests to a series of cozy dining rooms decorated to evoke places such as Venice with its Bridge of Sighs, Rome with its Spanish Steps, and Sicily with its colorful waterfront. Among appetizers are garlic cheese bread, chilled tiger prawns on a bed of baby field greens, filet mignon carpaccio, and a variety of imaginative salads. Creative pizzas are also favorites. Among pastas, we like the penne tossed in a three-cheese sauce with lobster meat, asparagus and lemon zest. Entrée winners include chicken alla Milanese with grilled eggplant and a lemon-caper sauce; scaloppine of veal Marsala; and herb-marinated New Zealand lamb chops with a rosemary-and-mint glaze. Also pleasing are chef selections such as sautéed crab-stuffed mahi mahi topped with a white wine, lemon and garlic sauce. Save room for the homemade tiramisu. (Formerly Fellini’s Tower of Pasta.)
