 Fidel's Restaurant Review: Tucked in a cozy corner of Solana Beach called La Colonia, Fidel’s draws diners who favor the lively atmosphere and good eats created by Papi Fidel and his wife Martha. Ample portions and good margaritas make for a festive evening. Nosh at the Taco Bar or gather a large group of friends for an evening on the patio. We especially like the chicken and rice soup with cilantro, onions and avocado. Martha’s secret recipe for her chile rellenos is another favorite. Standards like enchiladas, carne asada, carnitas, tacos, tamales and tostados will not disappoint. The service may be haphazard but the waitstaff is friendly. Wrap up your evening with homemade flan or Mexican hot chocolate while you enjoy the mariachi music that transports you south of the border. |
