Fig & Olive Restaurant Review: True to its name, this Mediterranean restaurant features seasonal appetizer tasting menus of olives, cheeses and charcuterie. Standout starters include a presentation of zucchini carpaccio with lemon, pine nuts and Parmesan, and carrot confit in olive oil with cumin, orange juice, cilantro, Spanish onion, charmoula, dry apricot and harissa. Entrées may range from a robust garganelli with a spicy lamb ragoût, broccolini, red crushed pepper and sun-dried tomato, to Mediterranean branzino glazed with fig and aged balsamic vinegar and accompanied by a snow peas, figs and olive oil mashed potato. For a sweet finish, sink a fork into the caramelized apple tart or take a spoonful of warm chocolate soufflé with candied orange and vanilla ice cream.
