THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Filiberto's Cucina Italiana Restaurant Review: THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Located just south of Sea-Tac International Airport, Filiberto’s Cucina Italiana offers a unique brand of homemade Italian food to south end locals and travelers with layovers alike. The menu is as far from airport food as you could hope to get; dining here is like eating in nonna’s kitchen: warm, comforting and satisfying. The large menu suggests a course of action. Ordering from left to right, start with antipasti of prosciutto e melone (when in season) or bruschetta. Follow that with a pasta ripiena (stuffed pasta) with cream, meat or marinara sauce, the amazing gnocchi (potato dumplings) with Gorgonzola cream sauce or a pizza from the wood-fired brick oven. If you have room, follow your pasta course with an entrée. Ask your waiter for a list of the specials or choose from the menu. We like the veal piccata (tender veal in a white wine, lemon and caper sauce) and the broiled lamb chops. Regulars rave about the scampi alla griglia (grilled scampi). The wine list is heavily Italian and well chosen, and desserts are fittingly rustic and delicious.
