Finale Restaurant Review: Each outpost of this chain has the same suave, sexy feel with velvet-lined booths of crimson, ochre and black. The unique concept starts out by day as a café, bakery and above-average sandwich shop, but by night, Finale transforms into a romantic hot-spot for couples looking to mix and match a dessert sampler. Savory main courses such as the short ribs and baked salmon call for a wine pairing, perhaps a 2010 Anterra Pinot Grigio. Chef Nicole Coady dazzles with presentations that are meant to be sampled together, like the Magnanimous Molten cake that oozes a warm chocolate center accompanied by a trio of gelato and milk chocolate covered almonds. If you don’t want to share your sugar overload, a rotating selection of sweets like the Boston cream pie and crustless cheesecake are suitable for one. |
