Fisher’s Tavern in Mayfield boasts a cozy, home-like atmosphere that is unpretentious and welcoming. In keeping with the setting, the menu is equally approachable. Diners can indulge in classic American fare at this East Side outpost, where burgers are juicy, sandwiches and salads are generous and the fried chicken is appropriately crispy. Be sure to try the St. Louis-style barbecue ribs, basted in the house barbecue sauce. If you stop by when the sun is shining, ask for a seat on the wood deck patio. Just make sure to get there early, as long waits plague during peak hours.
