THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Fishhouse & Oyster Bar Restaurant Review:
The atmosphere at this bustling north Raleigh newcomer is colorful and contemporary---and often noisy as the result of a packed dining room. What brings in all these hungry locals? Seafood anyway you can imagine it: raw, steamed, smoked, grilled, broiled, blackened, fried, even seafood-topped pizzas, and its all fresh and well-prepared. Raw and steamed shellfish include clams, mussels, Old Bay steamed shrimp and as many as three different kinds of oysters, depending on the season. Fried seafood---even thin, delicate flounder---is moist under a delicate batter. Also recommended are house smoked trout and salmon, fish cakes, pastry-wrapped crab cakes, Buffalo shrimp and Chilean sea bass with a bouillabaisse-inspired fennel-orange-saffron broth.
