Florentine Cafe Restaurant Review:

Chatter and laughter ricochet off the brick walls at the North End’s Florentine Café, and in warm weather at least, travel through the open picture windows straight onto Hanover Street. Up front, the long wooden bar (one of the oldest in the city, opening after Prohibition) is jammed with townies and tourists alike. In short, soak up the atmosphere and sip a whimsical cocktail like the vanilla cake martini. The menu holds no surprises, all the standards are there: bruschetta, antipasto and calamari, veal Parm and rigatoni alla Bolognese. While there's nothing to complain about, there's nothing memorable either. The dessert menu is limited, so we prefer heading to nearby Mike’s Pastry for a cannoli.
