| The Brazilian churrascaria restaurant Fogo de Chão took over the former premises of Planet Hollywood---and talk about transformations: from a movie-land promo to a lavish restaurant where grilled meats carried from table to table on long, metal skewers promise patrons a significant protein overload. What's more, the whole show includes a salad bar that staggers the imagination: so much food, so little time, and why not fill up on fresh asparagus, cheeses, crunchy salad combos and fruits, cold cuts and more cheese. Back at the table, you'll find hot popovers that are as addictive as chocolate bars. The most exasperating part of a meal here is that it is way too easy to feel sated before you have sampled every single cut of meat: pork, grilled sausages, beef in many different guises, chicken, lamb chops. For dessert, we vote the crème brûlée one of the best in the city; the tres leches, only moderately fine. |
