The Franklin Grill & Tavern Restaurant Review

: This casual, 50-seat eatery is located in a charmingly restored 1800s, two-story mill that's part of the Franklin Historic District. The menu reflects what's locally sourced and seasonally available and includes an upscale pub menu loaded with hearty homemade soups and daily specials, ranging from quiche to fish 'n' chips. The French onion and chicken noodle soups top the daily list, with clam chowder, asparagus and other options also offered during the week. The sweet potato fries are a good lunch side when teamed with the Paradise Roll, a sandwich stuffed with grilled chicken, avocado, Havarti cheese, spinach, pineapple and pine nuts. But there's more sophisticated-comfy fare as well, including Burgundy strip steak, pecan-crusted chicken and meatloaf. For dessert, try the apple pie parfait or the flourless chocolate cake. There's also a nice selection of by-the-glass wines.
