THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED For more than 20 years, this cozy, few-frills French bakery in the Bird Rock section of La Jolla has been a source of good baguettes, croissants, pastries and cakes, as well as a place to enjoy simple French meals. Many start their day with a light petit dejeuner of baked goods and coffee, but the kitchen also serves more serious breakfast items, notably well-prepared egg dishes. At lunch, the range extends to soups, salads and sandwiches on the house-made baguettes; we’ve always thought well of the chicken liver pâté. At dinnertime, simple sautées, pastas and seafood dishes attract a crowd interested in enjoying a quiet, affordable meal in casual surroundings.
