THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Galette 88 Restaurant Review:

Now there’s another reason to compare San Francisco to Paris. This 40-seat, lunch only FiDi restaurant serves traditional, savory buckwheat crêpes to customers so hip they look as if they’ve escaped a Jean-Luc Godard flick. There are ten galettes on the menu, ranging from the “la basique” (basic) stuffed with Emmental and caramelized onions, to nouvelle offerings such as the “bleu velvet" filled with Bleu d’Auvergne, browned apples, honey, toasted almonds and arugula. There’s even a seasonal vegan galette --- perhaps with roasted asparagus and braised fennel drizzled with cashew cream. Each plate-size galette arrives with a small pile of mixed greens. There are two substantial salads on the menu along with wines by the glass, traditional French ciders and coffee. Finish with something sweet, such as the traditional combo of Nutella and banana stuffed into a dessert crêpe.
