Garson Restaurant Review: In an elegant yet cozy setting, Garson is one of Houston's finest sources for Middle Eastern food. No, make that fine Persian food---the kind lusted after by ancient Greeks and Romans. A healthy lineup of vegetarian items has given Garson quite a following. Appetizers include eggplant and spinach specialties, as well as such favorites as hummus, dolmeh, baba ghanouj and tabbouleh. Things heat up a bit with tasty beef kebabs, a house favorite, as well as skewers of lamb, chicken, fish, shrimp and scallops. Real hits, however, are the beef entrées, Middle Eastern staples. Try the shishleek, medallions of charbroiled filet mignon. Other specialties include Michael's Favorite, fettuccine with grilled chicken and smoked sausage glossed in a chive cream sauce. The lamb tenderloin salad is tossed with an Italian-style vinaigrette. |
