Dolce Group’s Geisha House in Santa Ana has an equally sexy cousin restaurant in Hollywood. Though located in a shopping mall with a drab exterior, the venue’s interior is decadent with glossy red tables, golden candlelight, Japanese silk brocade quilt on the walls, a two-story red fireplace and an upstairs painted floor-to-ceiling in industrial black. The vibe is modern Japanese with a decided pinch of Hollywood hip. So get the evening rolling with a Japanese beer or a not-too-sweet cocktail and the “new” edamame: shishito peppers sautéed in soy and garlic. Some groups come here for the fresh and innovative sushi rolls, which can come out on wooden platters for all to enjoy. Also think about the Pacific tuna appetizer with crunchy white onions and a tangy Asian mustard sauce. The Prime filet of Kobe beef and robata beef are tender and zesty. Don’t forget to visit Geisha House on Mondays when all food is half price. Just as in the Hollywood venue, this outpost is open for the late-night crowd.
