: This all-natural, Italian-style gelati and sorbetti is hand-made in small batches with seasonal ingredients from around the Bay Area---such as chocolate from San Francisco-based Guittard and Tcho, coffee beans from Oakland-based Mr. Espresso and Blue Bottle, and tea leaves from Oakland-based Numi. Vivid flavors range from classic gianduia and nocciola to exotic fruits and even single-malt whiskey. For vegans and the lactose-intolerant, Naia also offers soy-based gelato sweetened with sugar containing no bone char. (In addition to the original Berkeley shop, Naia also has shops in Walnut Creek and San Francisco, and its products are served at Whole Foods Markets in Oakland, San Ramon, Napa, Roseville and Cupertino.)
