Giant Drive Inn Restaurant Review: Enjoy ’70s-style décor and ’50s-style food at this suburban drive-in, a family-owned version of the fast-food experience. Meat for the burgers is house-ground and -formed, but in thin patties (no rare burgers here). But once you add on all the toppings, the burgers can grow utterly gargantuan. The truly brave and hungry should try “The Filler,” two all-beef patties anointed with bacon, ham, a large egg, tomato, lettuce, cheese, pickle and onion on a home-baked sesame seed bun. Other diners will enjoy the teriyaki and mushroom, or blue cheese burgers. Ignore the hot dogs, corn dogs and mediocre fries. Pair your meal with a super-thick milk shake. Note this is a cash-only establishment. |
