Gigi Restaurant Review: The menu mixes things up at this sleek café on a street brimming with bars and restaurants. When the weather is fine, customers vie for a seat on the sidewalk and patio, Old City's largest outdoor dining space. Chef Adrian Jeronimo's specialties include the chipotle-scented grilled Caesar and traditional paella spiked with calamari, mussels, clams and chorizo. Or graze from a menu of tapas-style small plates that trot the globe between Mediterranean, Latin, Italian and Thai cuisines. Cornmeal-dusted calamari is a treat, as are the Black Angus sliders. An inventive cocktail menu entices, from a "Quintessential" martini with vodka, vermouth and blue cheese-stuffed olives to the more exotic "White Orchid" with Champagne, lychee and white cranberry. For larger parties, an expanded bar area and private room in the back offer fun options. |
