| Gilt Club juxtaposes romantic, vintage Hollywood décor with an earthy “whole beast” menu. Appetizers might include pork head croquettes and foie gras torchon with sea salt shortbread. Entrées focus on unusual meats too, such as lamb neck with sweetbreads or a burger topped with pork belly. Vegetarians may cringe (even a green salad is topped with a crispy pig ear) but the hours, food, and nicely shaken cocktails have made this a favorite post-work stop for service industry regulars as well as an after-show gathering place for theater-goers. Stop in for dessert or house-made ice cream, perhaps the surprising, cereal flavor topped with maple sugar cornflakes. The talented bartenders house-infuse vodka with an array of ingredients---pepper, tomato, cacao, Roma tomatoes and tangerine---but you can’t miss with any of the cocktails. |
