THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Gilt Club Restaurant Review:
It's hard to find a burger and a beer, let alone gourmet food, after midnight in Portland. So Gilt Club’s hours, its food and nicely shaken cocktails have made it a favorite post-work stop for service industry folks as well as an after-show gathering place for theater- and club-goers. The dim, red interior and gauzy gold drapes add to its appeal. Food-wise, expect an earthy, frequently changing "head to tail" meat-centric menu and creative dishes, perhaps elk tartare, wild boar ribs, octopus terrine, and a vegetarian mushroom strudel. For a lighter meal, try inventive appetizers such as fried cauliflower with a seafood aïoli or spicy pork rinds with lime vinaigrette. Talented bartenders craft drinks often incorporating liquors infused with an array of ingredients, such as pepper, tomato, cacao and tangerine, among others.
