THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Located at the entrance of Ka’anapali, you can’t miss Giovani’s---just look out for the large wooden building draped in red, white and green lights. The décor is lively trattoria, and the open air, spacious seating is casual. The friendly servers are helpful navigating the extensive menu, which features a variety of appetizers, made-to-order and stuffed pastas, seafood and meat entrées, and hand-tossed pizza. For starters, we enjoy the seafood-stuffed mushrooms, which arrive baked in a buttery garlic sauce. The sourdough garlic bread, topped with Parmesan, is good on its own or for dipping in olive oil. For entrées, the mixed grill, which comes with sweet Italian sausage, shrimp scampi and chicken breast, is delightful, and is paired with linguine and your choice of pasta sauce. Keep an eye out for the nightly specials, such as the opakapaka piccata---a large piece of fish cooked in a buttery white wine sauce with lots of capers and served alongside bowtie pasta with vodka sauce. Portions overall are hearty and big enough for sharing. Leave room for dessert; the house special banana whama---a large brownie topped with ice cream, bananas, chocolate and strawberry sauce, and lots of whipped cream---is a pleasing end to a satisfying meal.
