Globe Bistro Restaurant Review: Globe Bistro offers two different dining experiences: a quieter restaurant vibe (in the back) and a livelier ambience for tapas upfront. Both are equally enjoyable, and feel free to chat with the chef from the open kitchen. The menu features organic and regional produce when possible, resulting in starters such as elk tartare with garlic scapes and pickled turnip, as well as heirloom greens with a cider vinaigrette, pea shoots and radish. Main dishes include Lake Erie pickerel with wild rice cake, and crab and apple salad, as well as the elk loin and osso buco duo served alongside spaghetti squash, kale and mushroom ragoût. A tasting menu is also available with or without wine pairings. With over a dozen wines by the glass and hundreds of labels available, both the wine connoisseur and the uninitiated will find something to please their palate and budget. Patrons can also bring their own bottle for a corkage fee, or drop by on Sunday for half-price bottles. Meanwhile, weekend brunch proposes the likes of stuffed french toast with spiced carrot cake bread and citrus cream cheese.
