Globe Bistro Restaurant Review: Globe Bistro offers two different dining experiences: a quieter restaurant vibe (in the back) and a livelier ambience for tapas upfront. Both are equally enjoyable, and feel free to chat with the chef from the open kitchen. The menu features organic and regional produce when possible, resulting in dishes such as smoked B.C. albacore tuna with cucumber noodles, togarashi popcorn, citrus yuzu emulsion and a black sesame tuile, or Northern Woods mushroom ricotta gnocchetti with rapini, butter cup squash, a silky poached farm fresh egg, toasted walnuts and Monforte Toscano. A tasting menu is also available with or without wine pairings. With over a dozen wines by the glass and hundreds of labels available, both the wine connoisseur and the uninitiated will find something to please their palate and budget. Patrons can also bring their own bottle for a corkage fee, or drop by on Sunday for half-price bottles. Meanwhile, weekend brunch proposes the likes of a breakfast sandwich with duck rillettes, Brie, arugula, a runny fried egg and aïoli on an English muffin.
