| A former brick livery stable has been transformed into a comfortable, warm restaurant that serves until 1 a.m.---the kind of place where chefs and waiters from some of the city’s top spots go after their own kitchens close. Along with all this bustle and energy comes a high noise volume. Not to worry, you may not be able to hear your table-mates as the evening wears on, but you can still enjoy the crisp, caramelized crust on the leg of lamb---cooked on a rotisserie---reclining on a bed of soft polenta. Grilled halibut comes with a pungent chermoula sauce singing with the vibrant flavors of preserved lemons and aromatic herbs. Daily pizza specials validate the idea that it is all about the toppings and the crust is just a transport vehicle. Desserts are seasonal and homey, like bubbling fruity cobblers with whipped cream and apple tarts with caramel ice cream. |
