Golden Horse Restaurant Restaurant Review: Underwhelming from the outside, the atmosphere does not improve once you enter the cavernous dining area of this longstanding Chinese restaurant. Yet the surprisingly good food makes up for the bleak surroundings. The vast menu offers all the conventional choices, but also some surprises --- in huge portions. The best dishes are in the seafood category, including the sweet-and-sour whole fish, salt-and-pepper fried squid and, for the adventuresome, chewy jellyfish served with peppery sliced pork legs. Pickled chicken feet, for those who enjoy their gelatinous charms, are some of the best in town. Be sure to also sample the succulent fried chicken stuffed with sweet rice. There's a limited beer and wine list; Chinese beer is probably the optimal choice.
