| Midtown’s Overton Square has lost many businesses over the years, but Golden India remains one of the few holdouts. The place attracts a loyal following who relish the kebabs and kormas of traditional North Indian cuisine. A daily lunch buffet is available, but when ordering from the menu, don’t miss the tandoori chicken, marinated in yogurt then cooked over hot coals. Golden India’s curries, even when super-heated, remain complex. Relieve the heat after dinner with the pistachio ice cream and rice pudding. Golden India offers a limited selection of inexpensive wines, and one is from India (Sula Chenin Blanc, and it’s not bad). |
