Goshi Restaurant Review: Goshi was the first restaurant to bring the sushi concept to Paso Robles, and for many, it’s still the go-to place. Some might frown on the use of so many drizzled sauces, but we find they offer a fun little spark to the sushi and cooked dishes. Specials depend on what’s fresh --- definitely go for the wild salmon when it’s available, either as sashimi or broiled. Longtime favorites include the teriyaki beef, duck udon soup with grated daikon, and the short ribs. Sashimi and sushi offerings hew pretty close to the traditional, though some are served with a spicy signature sauce made with chili paste, soy, house-made ponzu and mayo, so be aware of the spice factor when ordering. There is Kirin beer on tap, which will help cool the palate, as well as saké and local wines. Dessert choices consist of green tea ice cream, red bean ice cream and mochi. (Note: The restaurant closes between lunch and dinner.) |
