| Located in the West Village, this casual and cozy Italian spot may just win the prize for “most dimly lit” restaurant in the neighborhood. The service is very Italian and the setting is charming if you like low ceilings, brick walls and candlelight. If the owner takes a liking to you, prepare to be showered with love---and Italian chocolates served from an oversize snifter---as you leave. The food is all quite satisfying, some very good, such as the mini meatballs in tomato sauce served with buttermilk mashed potatoes or “mama’s” homemade tortellini stuffed with meat, Parma prosciutto, mortadella and Parmigiano. |
