The Grand Concourse restaurant occupies the renovated 1901-built PL&E railroad station. A must-see attraction, this landmark provides one of the city’s most striking dining spots. The main dining room (the former train station concourse) boasts a glorious stained glass vaulted ceiling and a grand staircase. Marble, brass and mahogany underscore the architecture’s Edwardian splendor. In the glass-enclosed River Room, large windows frame dramatic riverfront city views. The long menu presents an array of seafood, pasta, poultry and beef. But the specialty is Sunday brunch---an all-you-can-eat buffet, offering everything from fresh fruit to carved roast beef. This restaurant is high volume, able to serve well over 600 guests. Don’t expect superlative food. The ambience is the highlight.
