Grandale Farm Restaurant Restaurant Review: In farm country located between Leesburg and the border of West Virginia, this country inn offers a lovely setting and an elegant farm. After all, Grandale’s chef may just head out the door prior to mealtime to pick up a few fresh vegetables and herbs. What he achieves are lunch and dinner dishes that rival some of DC’s best and brightest. If you are lucky, you can start either meal with a pork-avocado-tortilla soup before you order a luncheon sandwich or a dinnertime seared black grouper or pork porterhouse served with gnocchi and spinach. You might even be tempted by the Tres Cosas, with prawns, capicolla and andouille sausages. Desserts include a strawberry cheesecake made with local organic honey or the black and white chocolate decadence with butterscotch caramel sauce. Whatever you select, be sure to ask the waiter for guidance with wine pairings, and sit back to enjoy the country views out the back window. Also inquire about the hours for the wine tastings. |
