The Greater Good Barbecue Restaurant Review

: The Greater Good Barbecue turns out sandwiches that generously pile on the meat. Brisket is available with or without the fat cap; of course, the former version is juicier. Ribs (wet or dry) and pulled chicken are options, too. In regard to the pulled pork, we like the sandwich but object to presenting the meat with a sauce already added. Request it without sauce if you wish, so you can dress it as you see fit. Do not pass up the coleslaw, in this case hand-chopped and sans mayonnaise (go Carolina style and pile it on the pulled pork). Baked beans are too sweet for our taste and the potato salad sports surplus mayonnaise; both are house-made. Among the desserts, we recommend the brownies, although the banana puddin' is very good with a layer of vanilla wafer crumbs on top. Respectable beers on draught are the quaffs of choice, unless sweet iced tea appeals. A couple of wines are offered, but they're not choices that will go well with 'cue. Also located at 4441 Roswell Rd. NE, Buckhead, 404-303-8525; and 2358 Hosea Williams Dr., East Lake, 404-377-0044. All are pooch friendly.
