| The setting and atmosphere are quite nice (waterfalls and a pond, two levels, a seasonal patio for al fresco dining) and the menu offers something for everyone---including a large selection of entrée-size salads---and some of it is interestingly prepared. The wood-roasted root beer-glazed pork chop, spit-roasted herbed chicken and a good steak burger are all worth a try, when available. Others to target include the filet Diane topped with onion straws, herb chicken in tomato-garlic broth and macadamia nut-crusted mahi mahi. Some dishes are first-rate, some not so great, but overall there are more hits than misses. The lunch crowd appears to be mostly those people working at nearby businesses. At dinner, the worker bees give way to family dining. Translation: high noise level at lunch, hardly a peep at dinner. Service is professional, and the wine list is short and simple. Drink and food specials on weeknights add to the appeal. |
