The Grille at ShadowRock Restaurant Review: Tucked inside the Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa, The Grille at ShadowRock has a relaxed feel, with a sprawling patio and huge picture windows to enjoy the beauty of Sedona’s landscape. Chef Daryl Richards has created an inventive and seasonal menu, marrying classic Southwestern flavors --- chiles, chief among them --- with modern additions of distinctive sauces. Among the musts: dry chile-rubbed filet mignon topped with a pomegranate and sweet chile demi-glace, complemented by sides of roasted baby potatoes and a fresh squash vegetable mix. The chiles are locally grown, then dried in the restaurant and made into a powder and rubbed on the meat, while the pomegranate demi-glace adds a smoky, slightly sweet flavor. We also recommend the house-made fettuccine with grilled shrimp, swathed in a piquillo and manchego cheese cream sauce strewn with oven-dried yellow tomatoes, roasted corn and elephant garlic. For dessert, try the signature chocolate chimichanga --- thin, light layers of cinnamon and chocolate pastry filled with apples and a sweet cream, in a pool of caramel and chocolate sauce, and served alongside a scoop of Häagen-Dazs dulce de leche ice cream. The waitstaff is also worth noting for its friendly and attentive demeanor.
