Guadalupe Cafe Restaurant Review: Situated close to the New Mexico State Capitol, Guadalupe Cafe offers hearty New Mexican food that draws legislators and locals alike. The wait can be lengthy when the legislature is in session, but it’s well worth it to savor the sour cream chicken enchiladas. Breakfast tostadas are also popular --- two crisp corn tortilla cups filled with beans, sausage or ham, eggs and your choice of chile sauces (try Christmas-style, which is half red and half green). And for dessert, the kitchen makes a mean tres leches cake. Décor is rustic, with cowboy paintings, adobe walls, wood floors and corner fireplaces, and in warmer months, the patio, while noisy with street traffic, is great for people-watching. Guadalupe Cafe offers weekend brunch only; The Pink Adobe is open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday in this same space.
