| Whatever images the word roadhouse might conjure up in one's mind, it's probably not the palace of purple and teal you will find at Harry's Roadhouse. This sunny restaurant is a favorite with Santa Fe locals who appreciate its campy charm and enormous servings of New Mexico soul food, like jumbo sour cream, blue corn, green chile and turkey enchiladas. Heaven. Harry's has a great patio out back where you can sip a fresh lime margarita and contemplate the beauty of summer in Northern New Mexico. In cool weather sit at the bar, whose surface is a welter of colorful Mexican tiles, and warm your insides over a big pile of smoked chicken nachos. No matter how much you eat, be sure to save room for the ever-changing selection of desserts. The Key lime pie is wonderful, but then just about all the homemade desserts are pretty darn good. They're big enough to share too. |
