Harvest on Fort Pond Restaurant Review: Family-style Mediterranean fare is served up at this Montauk destination. Even though the dishes are traditionally shared, the portions are still huge, so be prepared to eat (the restaurant does offer half-portions). The menu changes regularly in accordance with the seasons, but options often include a whopping 40-ounce porterhouse steak. Among appetizers are grilled pizzas, char-broiled local oysters and pancetta-roasted shrimp. For mains courses there’s a handful of pasta dishes and a good deal of local seafood --- think a mixed seafood bruschetta. And with the Italian influence of the menu, it’s no surprise that tiramisu features for dessert, but the fresh fruit ice cream sandwich is tasty as well. The wine list has several international options by the glass, and a small selection of both draught and bottled brews will keep beer-lovers happy. As the restaurant overlooks Fort Pond, you might be lucky enough to catch a sunset. Service is friendly and attentive.
