Harvest Table Restaurant Review

:
About the restaurant and décor: Charlie Palmer (Dry Creek Kitchen) has created another dining destination in Harvest Table. The restaurant's gardens’ prolific output and local artisanal producers are the motivation behind chef Spencer Wolff's Napa Valley wine country menu. On arrival, a light, open bar with smooth wood and neutral tones hints at a spa-like atmosphere. A somewhat nondescript dining room gives way to outdoor patios with deep-pillowed chairs, twinkly lights and redwood grove views that reinforce the resort ambience.

About the food: Eyes and palates are delighted with starters such as sliced estate marinated beets and field greens plated to resemble a whole beet "planted" in raisin and walnut crumbs resembling soil. Laura Chenel's goat cheese and walnut vinaigrette add finishing touches to the dish. Decadence abounds with foie gras torchon or crispy pork belly. Entrée-wise, folks come from far and wide for roasted truffle-butter chicken and the signature Fontina-topped burger. Desserts rival mains, as with the dark chocolate peanut butter mousse bar or refreshing house-made ice creams and sorbets.

About the drinks: Unsurprisingly, wines feature Napa labels. Cocktails incorporate interesting ingredients, as in a tequila-based drink with chile liqueur, Thai bitters, grilled corn and fresh basil.
