Whether you dine in the convivial bar or downstairs in what feels like a Mediterranean wine cellar, The Harvest Vine is likely to become a favorite. Owner-chef Joseba Jiménez de Jiménez, a Basque native and Cordon Bleu master chef, turns out an array of Spanish tapas and impressive paellas made with authentic ingredients, many flown in directly from Spain. Chef Jiménez and his able staff bob and weave in a smoothly choreographed dance, sautéing blood sausages and baby chorizo links, grilling octopus, fresh sardines and lamb loin chops, and pear wedges served with bread and Cabrales blue cheese. We recommend the tender cardoons in a cheesy béchamel and tomato gratin, and pimentos stuffed with potato and salt cod purée. Among the cold plates, try the fresh anchovies, salt-cured tuna, sheep and goat cheeses, and olives. Desserts are the domain of Jiménez's wife, Carolin Messier de Jiménez, who develops dishes using an eclectic as well as a classic Spanish approach.
