The Hearthstone Restaurant Review

: Opening in 1975 as one of West Michigan's first gourmet sandwich, soup and entrée salad restaurants, The Hearthstone is still pleasing customers with the same nothing-but-homemade formula. The menu has since filled out, and then some. Expect hearty entrées such as duckling served over wheat and barley pilaf and sweet potato purée; char-grilled Delmonico steak with potato and onion gratin and creamed spinach; and linguine with chicken, artichokes and wild mushrooms. Sandwiches include the French classic croque monsieur. The ambience is reminiscent of a bistro, with a polished cherrywood interior and vintage French and Italian bistro posters.
