Holman's Restaurant Restaurant Review: Holman's has been a fixture in this Southeast Portland neighborhood for more than eighty years. Neither the atmosphere nor the food are fancy, but the drinks are stiff, the edibles are decent with affordable prices, and late night hours are standard. Sink into one of the comfortable booths and peruse the well-worn menu offering plenty of fried favorites (clams, potatoes, chicken-fried steak), or choose from breakfast standards such as a variety of bacon and eggs combinations. It's dark inside, which appeals sometimes, but when the weather is warm and sunny, grab a spot on the pleasant outdoor patio. You might even join the whiskey club: sample 26 whiskeys stocked in-house, and your name gets written on the wall. Night owls appreciate the 24-hour weekend hours --- this spot is the prime destination after the bars close. Or simply stick around after a wild Saturday night for the mix-it-yourself Bloody Mary bar on Sunday morning. It's probably the closest thing to a vegetable dish you'll find here.
