Located on the second floor of Waikiki’s Beachwalk area, this 152-seat restaurant has an appealing décor that is dedicated to ancient Pacific seafarers. It is decidedly Polynesian with colors of earth and sky featuring natural fibers and warm wood accents. Inside seating is recommended since there is limited outdoor seating and views that are average at best. The menu has a wide variety of pupu and poke along with pastas, poultry and steaks, but it’s the fresh island fish that shines above all. The macadamia nut-crusted pan-seared mahi mahi that comes atop a generous serving of roasted garlic linguine will make converts of all those who “don’t like fish” and will make those who do come back again and again. The restaurant serves a notable breakfast buffet every day of the week. It is a good alternative to overpriced regular coffee shop fare, and features fresh muffins, omelets and pancakes along with island favorites including Portuguese sausage and pineapple.
