Honduras' Kitchen Restaurant Review:

Located just west of Long Beach’s popular Retro Row, this neighborhood joint is refreshingly subdued. Equipped with sparse seating that allows for an airy ambience and a bar that feels nearly hidden, the venue seems built for patrons who just want to come in and have a nice, relaxing meal. The restaurant delivers the culinary goods by strongly sticking to classic Honduran dishes and ingredients without co-opting other Latin American epicurean motifs. The ground beef-stuffed plantain or Honduran meat pie starters are fine indicators of its commitment to the old country. For mains, we recommend ordering the parillada Hondurena, a heaping sampler of tasty Honduran specialties meant to be shared amongst two to four people. Wash your meal down with one of the Honduran specialty drinks, which feature flavors like yellow cherry and tamarind. The early crowd can stop by to indulge in a hearty breakfast plate. On Fridays and Saturdays, the dining room livens up with Latin-fueled entertainment.
