Honey Butter Fried Chicken, Chicago, IL

Honey Butter Fried Chicken Restaurant Review

About the restaurant: Counter-service and casual, Honey Butter Fried Chicken in Chicago is the go-to from Sunday Dinner’s Joshua Kulp and Christine Cikowski (Blackbird, Milk & Honey). The interior is on the small side, but there are plentiful tables on the patio for enjoying your meal when the weather is pleasant.

Food & Drinks: Here, it’s all about making memorable, namesake poultry, all salty-sweet and served with honey butter. Guests can also choose from house-made dipping sauces such as honey mustard, herby ranch, sweet chili and candied jalapeño mayo. The sides are interesting, too, with options like creamed corn with Thai green curry; killer, caloric pimento mac ‘n’ cheese topped with toasted bread crumbs; and kale and cabbage slaw with sweet tea vinaigrette and dried pomegranate. Pair yours with boozy sweet tea or a spicy bloody Mary, served with a celery salted chicken wing. Then, finish with a chocolate toffee cookie.
