My husband and I were celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary and since we have no family and/or friends in the area, we need to take our children to dinner with us. We have a 21 month old and a 2 month old. My son is very well behave and have NEVER had any problems eating out. Since we love sushi and are still trying to find the perfect sushi place, since we moved her from LA, CA in November, we were very excited to give HOOKED a try!
My husband looked at their website, which, itself is very impressive. We noticed that they had a good children's menu, that would be perfect for our 21 month old. So my husband made a reservation, online, since you can not call and speak to anyone. This was disappointment #1. He made reservations for 5pm and asked for 2 highchairs. He received an email back, stated that the reservation was "confirmed and we will see you at 5pm". We arrived to the location at 455 pm and the doors were locked. The employees saw us standing outside in 90+degree weather and did nothing! Disappointment #2. When a gentlemen finally opened the door, looking like he just rolled out of bed, 5 minutes after 5pm, disappointment #3. He stated you have a 5pm reservation, which means we must have been aware of our request. He stated they are setting the table now, after a minute or two he walked us to a table. I asked for the highchairs and was told they do not have them?! Ok, so I asked for at least 1 booster, for my son, and was told they do not have any?! I asked if you have a kids menu, why aren't they prepared for, DARE I SAY IT, KIDS?!, The same unimpressed dressed gentlemen, shrugged his shoulders. At this point we turned and walked out. Our final disappointment.
We have NEVER been to a restaurant that does not have highchairs and/or booster seats, especially if they have a kids menu, with no age restrictions.
When you make reservations, with HOOKED, they ask for a phone number and any requests or comments, if they were unable to provide us with the request, of highchairs, we SHOULD have been notified. That is just common respect! |
