THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Horseradish Grill Restaurant Review:
Located in a suburban strip mall, this branch of Horseradish Grill lacks the lush setting of its older sibling near Chastain Park, although it has an appealing atmosphere of its own with warm, intimately lit interiors. Chef Thomas McEachern is the executive chef governing both locations, but the day-to-day cooking is under the hands-on direction of chef David Hartshorn. The menu is the same in both locations, so look for the same culinary concepts and dishes. Star appetizers include the Hot Georgia Browns, based on house-smoked turkey layered onto buttermilk biscuits and gulf shrimp on Loganville Turnpikes stone-ground grits. In season, soft-shell crab perched on a perfectly dressed lettuce salad also appears as an entrée. Stick with the dishes that are rooted in Southern tradition, such as the notable skillet-fried chicken, served with mashed potatoes and garlic green beans. The extensive wine list leans heavily on California selections. Reservations are a must; call or book at the website, www.horseradishgrill.com. Also located at 4320 Powers Ferry Rd., at W. Wieuca Rd., 404-255-7277.
