Houston's Restaurant Review:
Since the first Houston’s opened in 1977, all locations of this nationwide chain from Hillstone Restaurant Group have been known for serving large portions of upscale-casual American fare in a handsome, lively setting. The menu is dominated by hefty burgers, steaks, double cut pork chops, prime rib beef and baby-back ribs. For groups who want to graze there’s house-smoked salmon served with toast points and tarragon mayo sauce, and rosemary focaccia with olives and almonds. For dessert, get the apple walnut cobbler or hot fudge sundae. There are about 20 price-friendly wines by the glass including Frog’s Leap Sauvignon Blanc from Napa and a Chianti classico from Tuscany. Overall, a crowd-pleasing, if predictable dining experience.
