 Hub 51 Restaurant Review: R.J. and Jerrod Melman --- sons of mega-restaurateur Rich Melman (Lettuce Entertain You) --- work the room at their own baby, a stylish River North restaurant. Soaring, exposed ceilings and an open floor plan give the place loft appeal; flat-screens, a DJ booth and comfortable bar area give the young and young-at-heart crowd a reason to lounge. Service runs like a finely tuned vehicle, and there are so many good-sounding menu options, it’s hard to choose. From crispy rock shrimp tacos and California rolls to grilled Amish chicken, salmon and short ribs, there’s a meal for all tastes. We especially like snacking on the chile-braised, pulled chicken nachos and crisp baked potato debris, a concoction laced with sage, rosemary and romesco sauce. When looking for a change of pace, grab a cocktail at adjunct Sub 51.
