Humphry Slocombe Restaurant Review: This destination ice cream parlor features offbeat flavor combinations that will baffle and satisfy. On an endlessly updated list of new and innovative scoops, a few have stuck around by popular demand. One is "secret breakfast," an intoxicating mix of bourbon and cornflakes that would provide an unusually decadent start to any day. Other favorites include anything with Guinness in the title, balsamic caramel and McEvoy olive oil. The parlor is sleek and streamlined with vintage red barstools, a couple of outdoor tables, and staff willing to offer multiple samples of that day’s featured flavors. Some---such as government cheese and foie gras---probably should be sampled first. |
