 Hunt Club & Fireside Room Restaurant Review: Housed in the historic Sorrento Hotel, the Hunt Club’s formal dining room has served patrons with old-world flair since 1981 (the hotel was completed in 1908). Chef Matthew Mina's seasonal menu has a cutting edge sensibility and classic Northwest style. Depending on the season, you may choose from crispy-skinned Copper River salmon, grilled bone-in rib-eye with grilled figs and blue cheese, or an elk chop with a spicy Dijon sauce. Desserts range from tangy lemon bars and lavender crème brûlée to brioche bread pudding and chocolate Bundt cake. A thoughtful wine list of Pacific Northwest and California varietals complements the menu. The circular Fireside Room adjacent to the hotel’s lobby, which is adorned with acres of Honduran mahogany and gilt frames on Old Master reproductions, is a grand spot for afternoon tea or a well-constructed cocktail. The weekend brunch is perfect for special occasions and impressing out-of-town guests. |
