THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Ibla Restaurant Review:

Choose from a radiant green in the front room, or the more library red in the rear---each have their followers but both have a warm intimacy which is a welcome relief given the plethora of so many large, impersonal restaurants. Tables are elegantly laid with best white linen, a perfect stage for cooking which draws its inspiration from the Italian home, but executes it with wit and style. A first course might be egg-rich pasta tossed with crab and chilli, the whole perfectly balanced. Main courses might be stuffed squid, sweet and sticky, served with mussels and an elegant tomato broth. Other main courses might be duck served with an inky black sauce spiked with citrus fruits, or red mullet served with a light and fresh caper sauce and wilted spinach. Desserts are more French in style, a delicious pear tart with mascarpone, or a lime mousse, delicate but intense. The almost all-Italian wine list climbs steeply, but is unusual and different and worth exploring with the extremely helpful sommelier. Service overall is charming, willing and efficient. Set 3-course lunch £15, 4 courses £18; set 2-course dinner £26, 3 courses £30.
